Long story short, I have known this person in UK back in 2005. After knowing her for few months, she has demanded thousands of dollars (US$), claiming she was in serious debt which I was happily to help her out, including all her living expense, in which I had no objection with.

Three months have been passed and gone, she therefore had been returned to Hong Kong. However, due to some circumstance, travelling visa could not be obtained, I therefore secured a place at the university and paid all the fees in advance, in addition, having myself to be a "Guarantor" in order to allow her to return to UK to study and stay with me.

I therefore have gathered all paperwork and sent to her handling as to be shown to embassy in order to obtain the visa. However, I was advised form her that documents are not sufficient and required £10,000 (US$19,000 at the exchange rate in 2005) to be shown in her bank account. I did not think twice and ran to the bank to have such funds to be transferred although my cash flow was limited, Due to the urgency, I have managed to raise the cash from all sources such as cash advance from credit card etc... I have also advised to her such funds are from loans and need to be returned to                                                        the bank and other companies, she simply agreed.

Few days have passed by, there is no sign of her. Phone was disconnected, no response via Email or by any means. I was worried at first, worried of something might happened such as accident. However, weeks after weeks, no communication can be established. I then realised this was purely a setup or could even describe as swindled. Just totally devastated of how stupid I was trusting this person.

As life moves on, with a bit of coincidence while I was surfing on the internet. I have managed to locate where she is about and found out she is now married and have two children. Frankly, all my anger have been passed and happy for her since it has been more than 10 years. However, there is a part of me still perseverance and believing I have the right to demand the money by return (only the loan amount of £10,000, not the others such as expenses).

I have tried to contacted her personally in a discrete manner without disturbing her husband and family, whilst they are innocent. But sadly, she is just being an ignorance as expected ever since.


I am writing this blog is not an action of revenge. However, I would like others and perhaps herself to aware of such evil acts. I strongly believe Karma will catch up sooner or later in life. I hope her kids will grow up healthy but none of this to be learned from her.
